Sigma Theta Psi has been “Empowering Women of Diversity Since 1991.” Founded at San Jose State University, the multicultural sorority has a social and academic focus. The Founders envisioned a diverse community of women who had a heart for principles such as respect, loyalty, honesty, and open-mindedness. Today, these principles stand as Values for a growing sisterhood across 13 college campuses in the U.S. With 27 years under their belt, Sigma Theta Psi women are ready to expand their impact into the future. Sigma Theta Psi has a long history of advocating for breast cancer awareness. Sorority chapters support local and national organizations year round. Events such as the I Pink I Can Brunch (formerly the Double D Brunch) raise funds annually for breast cancer research. Additionally, sisters participate in local breast cancer walks and work with other campus groups to raise awareness and funds for the cause.
