Sigma Alpha Iota

For over 110 years, Sigma Alpha Iota has worked “to encourage, nurture, and support the art of music.” Since 1903, the international music fraternity has nurtured successful female artists such as opera singer Jessye Norman, actress and singer Dr. Loretta Long (Susan on Sesame Street), and singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow. Through a strong heritage, an extensive collegiate and alumni network, and several educational resources, Sigma Alpha Iota empowers sisters to hone their craft and influence the industry.

SAI sisters use their talents to make a difference. SAI Philanthropies, Inc. was created in 1974 to fund projects, outreach programs, and provide grants and scholarships to members. Chapters support People-to-People in providing materials and opportunities to musicians in developing countries. They also support organizations like the Braille Transcription Project and the Bold Note Music Project, which assist visually impaired individuals and musicians. Sigma Alpha Iota serves communities on campus, around the country, and throughout the world.

SAI members can show off their letters with The Collegiate Standard’s Sigma Alpha Iota jewelry collection! Be bold with our beautiful line of rings, pendants, and lavalieres. Whether you’re performing on stage or heading to class, our Sigma Alpha Iota merchandise adds the finishing touch to your look.
