Alpha Epsilon Phi is a national sorority dedicated to their motto, “Multa Corda, Una Causa,” or “Many Hearts, One Purpose.” In 1909, seven Jewish women at Barnard College founded the organization, based on their desire to build lifelong friendships, have a mutual understanding, and uphold high standards of womanhood. Although AEPhi is a historically Jewish sorority, it is not a religious organization. Every year, Alpha Epsilon Phi welcomes hundreds of women of all racial and religious backgrounds. The sisterhood has a growing community with over 50 chapters on university and college campuses nationwide.
Phi’s members have a commitment to community service, academic excellence, and leadership. Many alumnae such as activist Elizabeth Glaser are dedicated to philanthropic efforts. Glaser co-founded the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in 1988, which supports research and advocacy for pediatric AIDS prevention and treatment. Other notable alumnae include Judith Resnik (the second American woman astronaut in space) and Lauren Weisberger (author of The Devil Wears Prada). For over 100 years, Alpha Epsilon Phi members have made an impact in their local communities and around the world. Now they can show off their pride with the below Alpha Epsilon Phi jewelry!
