Alpha Sigma Kappa

Since 1989, the Alpha Sigma Kappa sorority has built a strong network of women pursuing technical studies. Founded at the University of Minnesota, the college sorority supports women entering the fields of mathematics, architecture, engineering, technology, and the sciences. Sisters include actress, model, and author Sonja Fisher (Mrs. Corporate America 2009-2010), researcher and professor Dr. Christine Aikens (Kansas State University), and Captain Nicholie Bufkin (US Navy). The growing sisterhood has 1,000 lifetime members, 10 active chapters, six alumnae chapters, and two colonies.

With a tight-knit community, Alpha Sigma Kappa members are committed to academic excellence and building sisterhood through leadership, friendship, and support. Created in 2014, the Alpha Sigma Kappa Foundation provides scholarships for women in technical fields. The sorority supports education through DonorsChoose.org by donating to local classrooms, especially for STEM-related projects. Members also raise funds for organizations like the American Cancer Society and Charity: Water. By pursuing academic goals and giving back to the community, sisters dedicate their lives to making a positive influence in the world.
