Lambda Theta Phi brothers have committed to promoting “Chivalry Above Self” for over 40 years. Established at Kean University in 1975, the national brotherhood is known as “the first Latino fraternity.” Although the social organization is Latino-based, Lambda Theta Phi is open to men of all backgrounds who want to celebrate and spread awareness for Latin culture and unity. Brothers such as US States Senator Robert Menendez become leaders who strive for change around the world.
Lambdas have a vision to “lead by example” by working towards success in all areas of their lives. The fraternity is deeply involved in social activism and community service, spreading awareness and providing a voice for those in need, especially for individuals within the Latino community. Lambda Theta Phi helps high school youth prepare for college as volunteers and mentors in the Ready 2 Lead Next Gen Program for Latino students. Making a difference in other people’s lives empowers Lambdas to pursue a lifelong commitment to service.
