Sigma Nu

Sigma Nu men are determined to “Excel with Honor.” Founded at Virginia Military Institute in 1869, the college fraternity maintains its heritage and values principles of Love, Honor, and Truth. The founders had a vision to create a fraternity that was based on concepts such as leadership, excellence, and community. Over the last 140 years, Sig Nu has grown to over 230,000 lifetime members in over 270 chapters and colonies in the United States and Canada.

According to its Creed, Snu strives “to serve in the Light of Truth.” The brotherhood places an emphasis on giving back to local and global communities through the Helping Hand Initiative. Since 2004, Sigma Nu chapters have served organizations through volunteering and fundraising in this philanthropic effort. This initiative has allowed members to give back to and make positive changes in several communities. Brothers also participate educational and leadership programs such as LEAD, forming a strong character that will help them thrive in life after graduation.
